Nude Carwash
Drought Drives Aussies to Extremes

By Daniel Muniz

When a harsh drought struck the “Sunshine State” of Queensland on the east coast of Australia, severe water restrictions prohibited residents in the state capital of Brisbane from washing their own cars. “Bubbles 'n Babes” got around this ban by using recycled water while employing topless and nude women to wash cars.

Talk about making a fast buck!

Well, necessity has always been the mother of all inventions especially under the most dire of circumstances. And that is exactly how “Bubbles 'n Babes” got off the ground and turned into a successful enterprise.

Entrepreneur Warren Armstrong correctly guessed that business would be booming for commercial carwashes that only used recycled water since that was all that was permitted in Brisbane. The “big dry” drought which happens to be one of Australia’s worst drought in recent decades created plenty of dirty cars and the brutally strict water restrictions would prevent their owners from washing them for quite a while.

Consequently, these parched conditions instantly created a very high demand for having cars washed and a very tight supply of available carwashes using recycled water.

But for Armstrong to have an edge over all the other profitable carwashes currently operating in Brisbane, he would have to do something totally outrageous that would attract a lot of attention and garner plenty of free media coverage. And the drought provided the perfect backdrop to harness such a business venture.

So that’s when he came up with the idea of having topless women only wearing a skimpy bikini bottom as well as totally nude women washing the cars; hence “Bubbles 'n Babes” was born.

The way that Bubbles 'n Babes worked is that there were only two options for the Aussie customers to have their cars washed. For a very inflated fee, the service would be performed by topless women. And then for almost twice of that already inflated price, the car would be washed by completely naked women.

To avoid being criminally prosecuted by the city and to sidestep any other legal entanglements that could possibly arise, Armstrong took the appropriate steps to properly safeguard his investment.

The actual outdoor car washing discreetly takes place in an enclosure that is completely out of public view so no one passing by can see any of the ladies hard at work. And the way that the facility is situated prevents any onlookers from getting a free peep show. So in other words, someone has to get their car washed in order to enjoy the view and no passerby will turn into a pillar of salt from catching an accidental glimpse.

According to local law enforcement, there haven’t been any complaints.

As a result, city officials say that no laws were violated.

So as long as Bubbles 'n Babes continues to use recycled water during the mandated water restrictions, have all the work performed out of public view, and keep the scope of the employment for all the topless and naked women strictly limited to soap and water, then they will not be harassed by the authorities.

However, city and state officials have unequivocally stated that under no circumstances that absolutely no vehicles from any government fleets will be utilizing this overpriced service. Although governmental employees may be delighted to get an eyeful, the Queensland taxpayers won’t be price gouged with this kind of titillating expenditure.

It would be a perfect example of government waste which is why public officials insist it won’t happen on their watch.

And speaking of wasting money, the girls of Bubbles 'n Babes have been a big hit with the residents of Brisbane.

Car owners really don’t mind paying the exorbitant charge even though they could get the same job done elsewhere for substantially cheaper. They just enjoy the view that comes with the service.

As for Warren Armstrong, he feels that this carwash is simply another business venture that is definitely very different from what all of his competitors are doing. He sheepishly states:

“I'm just trying to make an honest dollar -- simple as that.”

Using naked women to wash cars is undeniably a wacky way to make money and there are plenty of Aussies who are more than willing to shell out the extra money to have it done.

As someone who lives from paycheck to paycheck with a family to support, I think that this is just a weird side effect of going too long without rain.
