The distinguished Senator John F. Kerry has managed to insult just
about every U.S. military veteran past and present during a campaign
speech that has earned him some rebuke from high profile members of
his own party. The liberal spinsters are working as hard as they can
to cover up this fiasco but we shouldn’t forget it. Kerry’s comments
were not a joke as he now claims but were heartfelt and reflect the
true opinions of liberals in the Democratic Party. They are also
repugnant and disgusting and I am truly glad he is not the President
of the United States.
What exactly did Senator Kerry say that was so vile? He said:
“You know, education, if
you make the most of it and you study hard and you do your homework
and you make an effort to be smart, you -- you can do well. If you
don't, you get stuck in Iraq.”
He is clearly implying that all soldiers are uneducated boobs who
joined the military because they couldn’t do anything else. I
patently know that this is false and the senator should know it too.
Senator Kerry, the sixties are over, so get with the program.
Today’s all volunteer military is not a welfare organization, we
don’t just accept anybody!
I have known many soldiers who enlisted with college hours or who
have already earned college degrees and many of them had good GPAs.
And not surprisingly, some of them had studied science and
information systems that would have landed them a decent civilian
job. Many servicemen who didn’t go to college were pretty smart and
could have enrolled and graduated but choose the military first. So
what would posses them to join the Army and go to Iraq?
Well, they wanted to be challenged in ways that college and a
civilian job could never challenge them.
They wanted to do something that really mattered and serve in a band
of brothers for a cause that was greater than themselves. For
instance, people like NFL star Pat Tillman; they wanted to look back
on their lives with pride knowing that they did their part to
protect America. These men and women chose to walk a separate path
from the rest of their generation unlike slackers who live at home
with mom and dad until they are thirty.
Now there are soldiers who joined because their options in the
civilian world were limited. Some of them just aren’t college
material and they were dissatisfied with their dead end Mc Jobs and
the military offered a better deal. But so what! If the military
offers them a chance for a better life then they are living the
American dream. Liberals just hate the thought of the poor and
uneducated moving up the social ladder without the assistance of
affirmative action or welfare.
The military is still a meritocracy and the liberals hate it even
more because people are not reliant on the government programs they
espouse to win votes. Yes, the military is a government agency but
it is not a welfare program. Military personnel have to work hard
and risk their lives for all of the benefits they earn.
But most importantly, our armed forces do not accept the least
capable of Americans for military service. On the whole, recruits
tend to be smarter as a group than their civilian counterparts. The
military classifies recruits into five intelligence categories, with
one being the highest and five the lowest when they take the entry
test.
The military doesn’t place a limit on recruits who score in
categories I and II which range from the 65th to 99th percentiles.
They do limit the number of category III recruits into the service
who score in the 31st to 64th percentiles. The military will only
accept a very small number of recruits in category IV, which are the
10th to 30th percentiles and they must demonstrate exceptional
enthusiasm and have a clean record but even then they are not
guaranteed acceptance. The military never accepts recruits in
category Vs in the bottom 10th percentile.
Slate Magazine released a comparison study between how recruits
ranked on the intelligence test compared with their civilian
counterparts. It is pretty clear that perhaps the military doesn’t
accept the dregs of society that Senator Kerry seems to imply it
does.

What Senator Kerry and other liberals fail to realize is that
there actually are young men and women who are true patriots. There
are people who are braver and better than themselves who volunteer
to fight in Iraq. There are still plenty of young men who haven’t
had their minds warped by socialists and feminists. And there are
plenty of young people who won’t accept a mindless future full of
welfare entitlements and dull union jobs. As shocking as it may
seem, some people actually love America and want to defend it from
Islamic fascists.
The Democrats consistently demonstrate that they are incapable of
handling national security and managing the military. They would
actually love to have a pacified androgynous military that is only
good for peacekeeping and serving as a welfare program.

Yeah, it’s called the Canadian military. As a Canadian, I can
tell you that the Canadian Armed Forces have been so wussified
by successive Liberal governments that they had to drop the
'armed' part!! Things are improving now but it will be a long
time before Canada has a real military again.

I was not surprised at the lame statement [it
was not an apology!] John Kerry gave as it is obvious that he
believes that everyone that he offended is stupid and added
insult to the previous insult, as he told us we do not
understand what we hear. He is more stupid then the guy that
thought he started the internet, as if that is possible. -Ward
