Is This
Entrapment?
Police Use Topless Women
By Daniel Muniz
A new type of a police sting operation to ensnare perverts in
Columbus Ohio as well as in other cities has generated quite a bit
of controversy. The way it works is that police use an undercover
female officer to sunbathe topless in a local park. In Columbus, as
well as in many other municipalities, being topless in a park is
perfectly legal but exposing anything more than that or performing a
sex act is not.
And to no one’s surprise, attractive bare breasted women will
definitely get the attention of a lot of men especially if she is
smiling and appears to be friendly. As a result, it doesn’t take
long for some guys to break the ice and initiate conservation with a
half-naked woman who is in an outrageously cheerful mood.
The undercover female officer then proceeds to actively flirt with
whoever decides to sit down with her. And to escalate the arousal,
she may tantalize him by placing her foot or leg on the man which
invariably leads him to think that this encounter could be headed to
the next level.
Then, it happens. The woman asks the man to perform a lewd act such
as whipping out his penis.
The man happily obliges by unzipping his pants and pulling out Mr.
Happy.
But immediately after the lewd act is performed, the man is swarmed
by other undercover officers and hauled away to an awaiting police
van. He is then slapped with a misdemeanor charge of public
indecency.
Overall, I personally do not mind sting operations like this because
I believe that they can be extremely useful tools for law
enforcement in their attempts to catch criminals in the act. But
what I do object to are the kind of extensive measures taken to lure
people to commit a crime and that smacks of entrapment.
I do not in any way deny that public lewdness is bad for the local
community, especially in our parks. There are too many public
recreational areas that have attracted the criminal element such as
drugs and sex acts. This lurid kind of bad behavior then discourages
the law abiding public from enjoying these facilities because thugs
and perverts have essentially taken them over. Sting operations are
sorely needed to keep this kind of trash away so that everyone else
can once again be welcome to enjoy these public areas.
However, I feel very uneasy when the police attempt to entice a
temptation in such a provocative way.
Granted, any man who whips out his penis in a public place
regardless of the reason has committed a reprehensible act. But what
I differ on is whether or not the actions of law enforcement borders
on seduction which could very well be entrapment. For example,
entrapment is often defined as:
“…
police activity that induces somebody to commit a crime that
they otherwise wouldn't do. It's not entrapment to give somebody
an opportunity to commit a crime."
“… involves an officer cajoling and persuading someone who's
resistant to the idea of committing a crime."

For some guys, a pair of bare breasts is more than enough to
break down their sensibilities although there are also plenty of men
who wouldn’t necessarily succumb to such a seduction. But the point
is that this type of sting operation has the potential of ensnaring
too many normal men with otherwise clean records. There are just a
lot of people who don’t have that kind of willpower to resist a
topless pair of boobs dangling in front of them, so it doesn’t
really take all that much to induce them to do something that they
wouldn’t ordinarily do.
That in no way excuses any bad behavior that a man with a clean
record might do but it does highlight the need for law enforcement
to focus their time and resources on the real perverts and the
serial offenders. There are plenty of weirdos out there who
consistently expose themselves to women and children or feel that
they are entitled to have sex in the bathroom stalls of public
parks. Those freaks need to be locked up.
But what is critical to note is that these lowlife degenerates need
absolutely no encouragement or inducement because they simply cannot
help themselves when they want to perform lewd acts in public. They
don’t need to be enticed because they are going to be doing it
anyways. As a result, it is these types of people that law
enforcement should be targeting instead of using a pair of bare
boobs to seduce Joe Sixpack.
To give credit where credit is due, the format of this kind of sting
operation is vitally useful. For example, police have gone
undercover as bums to catch the hoodlums who prey on the helpless.
In those operations, no enticement was needed because the thugs
couldn’t help themselves when they saw someone who they thought was
easy pickings. Law enforcement has been very successful in catching
these kinds of street hoods red-handed.
But the problem is when the police targets normal people and
enticing them to do things that they wouldn’t ordinarily do.
In Columbus Ohio and in the other cities that employ these tactics,
the intention is noble but there are too many real perverts and
lowlife degenerates that law enforcement should be concentrating on
instead.
